Swim, Steam and Sauna - A weekend without DAoC
*whine* I'm SOO sun-burnt.
As if swimming (aka waddling) in the afternoon sun was not bad enough. I am so wilted from sitting around in the steam room.
As if being steamed alive was not bad enough. I am so dehydrated from flopping around in the sauna.
I'm supposed to feel healthy.
But my shoulders are burnt, my muscles ache, my skin's dry and I feel absolutely limp.
Whoa. And this is after a whole day of rest.

*sigh* Its 12noon. I should go to the bank before it closes.
The jeweller's next to us got robbed on Sunday. (I was not working, so I didn't get to see the 6 gun wielding robbers in ski-masks do the deed.)
What I did get to see, however, are all the bullet holes left from the trigger happy robbers.
Poor Zul had a gun pointed at him as one of the robbers , leading 3 others, stupidly charged into our shop looking for an exit out of the complex.
I've not seen him since I came back from a 4 day break. I hope he's not going to turn religious after that.
BRB, work calls.

I just made out my schedule for April. Hehehe. Its a good one. *nodnodnod*
*beams proudly*
I'm thinking of going on a holiday to Melbourne. I don't suppose my boss would actually approve a 2 month leave application from me, would he?
DAoC Update
Jadyte Darkwaters is now a Neophyte Armourer, spreading love and joy all around Tir Na Nog as she smiths armour and gives them out to unwary passer-bys. She has been stagnant in the 34th Season as Druid for nearly two weeks. It takes that long to get rid of the Coruscating Mine's musty smells. She has never been happier.
Ailorv Maiapets is a Theurgist of the 11th Year, new to Tristan, only three days old. She wanders around Mithra's Tomb in Albion with her trusty tank, Faustus Maximus, an armsman with a baby blue helmet. She wisely chose to specialize in the Path of Earth, unlike her naive predecessor, Aleandrya. Ailorv struts around in a light purple dress robe, and a bleached cotton cloak behind her. Incredibly, she has even found time to practice tailoring.

Is it just me? Am I the only one who can't CONNECT to DAoC?? Server Status
Oh well, I can always entertain myself with DAoC Top Ten List.

DAoC allows stacking of materials!!
You can "stack" stacks of components in one inventory slot, up to a quantity of 100 of each item. So, you buy five "stacks" of 20 bronze metal bars each, and you drag one to the other. This combines them into one "stack" of 40. Continue with the rest, and you'll have one stack of 100. This doesn't reduce the weight, but it does enable you to hold many different items without using up too many inventory slots, especially if you use a skill like armorcrafting, which might require you to hold two or three levels of components.
Thanks to Bohklane Thunderstrike, Thane on the Igraine Server

DAoC's WHO filters!
If you're shopping for wares, you can find tailors by doing a "/who tailor", or fletchers by "/who fletcher", or armorsmiths and weaponsmiths by "/who smith". Armor crafters are listed as "armorers" while weapon crafters are listed as "weaponsmiths". So "/who smith" reveals weaponsmiths, and "/who armorer" reveals armorers.
Here are the titles that will display:
Master: 800+
Senior: 700+
Journeyman: 600+
Junior: 500+
Assistant: 400+
Neophyte: 300+
Apprentice: 200+
Junior Apprentice: 100+
Helper: 1+
A very rough rule of thumb for armor: Every 100 levels of skill points can help characters for 5 experience levels. Thus, Junior Apprentices can help level 1-5, Apprentices can help 6-10, etc. So multiply your level by 20 to work out what title you need.

DAoC Update
Jadyte Darkwaters of Hibernia, a Druid of the 34th Season, residing in the Igraine server has finally escaped from The Pit of the Coruscating Mines. She had to squeeze through a tiny crack near the Level 50 aggressive Abysmals, but at least she managed to leave without a scratch. She has turned in her warhammer for a smith's hammer, and is now an Armoursmith Apprentice, with piles and piles of gloves, leggings and helms around her as she powersmiths through the night. She makes dolls for fun.
Aleandrya of Albion, is now a Theurgist of the 13th Year, finding her home in the Nimue server. She is one year away from learning how to create a film of dust onto her companions, and till then, she has graduated from picking on pseudo basilisks to aged basilisks. For excitement, she groups up with 7 other Albionions and runs away from Salisbury Giants.

Days of Our Lives is SO aggravating to watch. Yet I keep watching it NIGHT after NIGHT. Why??
In today's episode!
Stefano kidnaped Marlena (again) and brought her to France. Kristen knows where Marlena is, but refuses to tell her fiance, John (Marlena's ex-husband) who is looking frantically for her. Rachel, Kristen's mother finds out that Marlena is in France when she walks in on Kristen talking to herself. Stefano professes his love to Marlena and asks for 'one night of love' in exchange for her freedom. Franco has been attacking women all over Salem but is never found out because he wears BLUE contact lenses when doing so.John uses a pair of special goggles that allows him to see Marlena's cell and finds out that she agrees to Stefano's request.
*bleah*
In this show, everyone talks to themselves. OUT LOUD. Evil schemes and dastardly secrets are all uncovered by people walking in on idiots who think out loud. When confronted with problems, no couple ever talks. They jump to conclusions based on what they hear and talk to everyone else. When someone sneaks about doing sneaky stuff, you can be sure SOMEONE will see him. When someone is framed for a crime, you can be sure NO ONE gives him an alibi clearing him. EXCEPT for one person, who is mad, his enemy or lost his memory.

Little mistakes do catch up BIG time
Fact : 3 hours of leaving your headlights on does drain your car battery totally.
):
My car's out there, alone and uncared for. It was 2 am when I tried to start it. Thankfully,I had my brother to come pick me up. We tried to jump start it but the cable's not long enough to reach the battery. Gack.
What am I supposed to do in the morning? How am I going to start my car? *cry*
WILL MY CAR STILL BE THERE IN THE MORNING??

DAoC HAS Stackable Items!
According to Nutraptor :
The object database has been overhauled! A large portion of the common loot drops are now stackable in a person's inventory, in varying numbers. This includes regular and pristine versions of many pelts and carapaces, small-sized body parts (ew!), small non-magic items (for example, rings or gems), flat items such as paper or notes, small junk loot, and medium junk loot. NOTE: The items may not automatically stack in a player's inventory when picked up. To stack an item, click on the icon in your inventory, move the cursor to the icon of a duplicate item, and click again. Once an item is stacked, it cannot be separated into single objects again, and the whole stack is sold when interacting with a vendor.

Guide to Siegecraft
Ever since my first character on DAoC, I've nursed this loftly ambition of being a Master Siegecrafter. Great wars will revolve around whether this Master Siegecrafter, who will craft the nastiest, deadliest war-machines that will turn the tide of war. Armies will stand around as this Master Siegecrafter contemplates the grain of the wood carried from the furthest reaches of the realm to her. Generals will twitch nervously as she carefully smiths the bolts and hinges needed for her craft.
Maybe I should just read this article before I start on my career as a Siegecrafter.

How to kill your Oranges >>>
Not for the faint of heart. It's even more dangerous because there are high and low oranges... a low orange is doable, a high orange is cause to run. Be cautious when picking out oranges to kill: if all of the mobs in a group are orange, or if you've never killed that type of mob before, avoid it. If you see one orange mob with other mobs that are the same type and are blue and yellow, it's a fair bet that it's a low orange, because it's at the highest possible level for that type of mob. That's not true 100% of the time, but in general it is. On the other hand, if you see an orange with other mobs of the same type that are red or purple, it's a good bet that it's a high orange.
Low orange: Count on 3+ resists. You might get less, but safe is better than dead. Bolt, DD, root, sprint to your sweet spot. If you get hit refresh bladeturn. If your root is resisted, try again with quickcast. If it's resisted twice in a row, run like hell.
High orange: Don't bother. It's possible, I do it once in a while, but if you manage to survive you'll have spent most of your mana, and if you manage to kill it, you were lucky. Don't count on doing it all the time. At best you have a 50/50 chance.

Mob Resistance to Spells >>>
In general, fire spells have an advantage over animals and undead, and are weak to insects (yeah yeah, I know spiders are technically arachnids, but in DAOC they're insects). Ice spells have an advantage against insects and are weak to animals. Humanoids seems to be a mixed bag: sometimes there'll be a bonus, or penalty, or neither.

How to kill your Yellows >>>
After you fire off that first bolt and see how much damage it did, you'll know whether you're dealing with a high or low yellow. If you miss, treat it like a high yellow. Here's how to deal with the different levels of yellow (keep in mind that, depending on whether it was in the sweet spot when you pulled it, you might get an extra nuke before your quickcast):
Low yellow: Can be treated like a high blue. If you're resisted at all, it will probably be only once. Bolt, DD, DD, DD/quickcast DD.
High yellow: Count on getting 1-3 resists. You may get less, but safe is better than dead. Bolt, DD, root, sprint to your sweet spot. If your root is resisted, quickcast another. Rinse and repeat. Once you're confident that you can finish it off, skip the root and just blast. On most high yellows I have to root and sprint once, occasionally twice. If you get hit while rooting, refresh bladeturn before nuking again.

Aleandrya, a Theurgist of the 11th Year still adventures with Divine Grace, hunting the dreaded pseudo basilisks (!!) on the Salisbury Plains of Albion, Nimue. When she has a sympathatic ear, she spends her time whining about how she stupidly specialized in Vapormancy, when she should have spent her training on Abrasion instead.

Aleandrya of Albion, a Theurgist of the 9th Year is now adventuring with Divine Grace, a Paladin. She finds her home on the role-playing server of Nimue and giggles quietly to herself each time she asks her companions to stay put, so she '...may weave her protective magicks upon them...'

My Long Term Plan for Aleandrya
Spec In
32 Earth
35 Air
25 Ice
According to Stonewall
'... for the portal sieges nothing is better than Ice. You can cast them pretty much consistantly without worrying about aggroing the guards (which is very important or they will come down and not only kill you, but you're entire party most of the time). The ice elementals also snare with their casts so your other critters can cast out in the open world. And trust me, in the open country of RvR, nothing feels better than sending a mix of elementals against a red (for me, level 50) opponent and basically get ripped to shreads...'
'...if you're level 35 (about), head into snowdonia and get a set of glittering arcane armor from the snowdon grims. This is an assortment of +'s to your elementals. Also the Rings of Forgotten Words from Barrows dungeon each grant +2 to every element. Later on, there is another set of elementalist armor that the skeletons (cyphraths or something like that) in the frontier areas drop. They're still red to me at 44, so I think they're level 50 critters. Now realize (if you're new) that getting + element items will not give the spells along with those levels, it will just make your spells more powerful and allow people/critters to resist less...'
Thanks to Stonewall of Lancelot for those nifty advice!

Dark Age of Camelot - Albion Elementalist - The Theurgist
Theurgists are specialist mages who learn the element of earth, and its use in summoning rock and earth elementals to help them in combat. At higher levels, they also learn spells that help with siege warfare. Elementalists become Theurgists by joining the Defenders of Albion at level 5. I'm happy
I'm back with Starbucks for another 6 months at least. That's what they promised me anyway. That they will not transfer me to KL for at least 6 months.
I'm happy. (:
DAoC Update
Lothelaa of Midgard, a Runemaster of the 9th Rune now adventures with a new group of heroes, having abandoned her last group of 7. In her free time, she stands around the Isuelt server and complains about how rune dancers' death cries resemble that of a very squeaky door.
Jadyte Darkwaters of Hibernia, a Druid of the 34th Season, residing in the Igraine server is now trapped in The Pit of the Coruscating Mines with no way out. Hoping that one day, her Prince will come. Meanwhile, she is getting encumbered with magic drops from weeweres.
Aleandrya of Albion, a hopeful Elementalist of the 3rd Year, found her home in the Nimue server. One day, she will become the Theurgist of her dreams. While waiting for that, she picks on lynx cubs and water snakes.

A man of grace. One who takes falls in his stride. Does not blame others even though it _is_ their fault. Considerate to everyone. Never short-tempered. Always good natured. Always polite. Quickly forgiving. Does not fear the unknown. Will not lash out at the one nearest to them in a crisis.
Tell me if you find one who fulfills _any_ of the above.

State of Panic
My last day with Starbucks is on the 20th of March. I'd be clearing my leave and such before, so technically, my last working day would be on the 12th of March.
That's 12 days more!
I still have not found another job! AARGH.
Things I should do before the 12th of March
1. Get a Singapore registered cell number and toss my Malaysian one away. <-- Starhub! Starhub! Starhub!
2. Get more details from Gavin about his job connection. <-- Remind me to blog this. Its rather interesting.
3. Confirm with Paul and Co about the print shop deal. <-- Yeah, I have to blog this too.
4. Clear out my mess of board games and VCDs I have stashed at work. <-- It was a great job. ):
5. Teach Hannah and Zul how to do a month-end inventory. <-- Talk about work ethics.
