Tourist Thing
The Musuem!Oooh, a whale skeletonAnother Tourist Day at Melbourne. (: I dragged Chris out of his warm bed (he'll claim otherwise) and we went to the Musuem! It was pretty interesting there. We got to gawk at a skeleton of a blue whale, touch some old dinosaur bones and cringe over legless lizards. *shiver* At the end of it all, we played a lame virtual game of Sharks! (or something like that)

Shark!Talking about sharks, I got to see some up close when we went to the Melbourne Aquarium. Am I the only person that thinks seahorses _are_ aliens? Jellyfish, granted look strange and wobbly, but a seahorse, a seahorse looks like nothing on earth! It has a horse's head, a spiney tail, and little flappy type wings at the gills. Come on!

StarbucksAck. At last my body cries out for caffeine. And guess where I go for my fix? Starbucks. (: I really wouldn't have whipped out my camera IN a Starbucks but there was this cute little bird flying around inside. It landed above the condiment bar and I knew I had a Kodak moment coming up.
Tourist Thing
Sad Looking Orang UtanChurch Opposite the ApartmentI did the tourist thing when I was at Melbourne. We went to the Zoo and walked around looking at rather sad looking animals for a couple of hours. ): After searching and getting lost, we finally found a SINGLE koala bear. That small bear was sleeping high up in a tree and curled up into a ball. Bleah. I feel so cheated. I didn't get to carry a koala bear!

'Nice' Scenery. Oooh.A fountain pic!Of course every tourist must have some gratitious shots of scenery and a fountain. So, here it is. It took hours of convincing Chris, but he finally agreed to pose for one. *smirk*

(: I'm back home.

Can't believe I have to be at work in an hour's time.

But believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to going to work!

Sunday, April 21, 2002

I made it! I'm actually IN Melbourne. Whee!

Despite having to work in the morning, then rush to the Singapore Immigration Department to apply for my re-entry permit. Then zooming off to Pasir Ris to pack, I made it to the airport at 3:30pm. With an hour to spare before meeting XH's mother at 4:30pm to get my ticket.

At 5pm I was checked in, and happily shopping at the airport's DFS. SGD$17 for a carton of menthol Sampornas and SGD$19 for a carton of Cartiers! (:

I landed at 10pm at KLIA and had an hour to burn before transisting to the next plane to melbourne at 11:45pm. *yawn*

I was held up in KL during transit as a passanger apparantly did not make the transit, and the airline people had to go through all the loaded luggage and remove the missing passanger's. The pilot of my flight was a chatty one and insisted on giving the passangers a blow by blow account of the search. The plane finally left KLIA and I made myself a list of in-flight movies I wanted to watch. Flipping through the movie guide, I groaned rather loudly. There's only Shallow Hal and Ocean's Eleven worth watching. (I've watched both shows twice, so yeah, I can live with watching them again.)

The ApartmentI landed in Melbourne at 6:45am in the morning. On time. (: The cab ride was a breeze, took only half an hour to find Elm Street. And waddya know, Chris was at the gates, waiting for me.Domestic Chris

And here's Chris doing the domestic thing by actually cooking for me.Maybe I'm just used to small dainty asian servings but ACK, Australians serve food in HUMONGOUS amounts. *burp*

2. My passprt application's in. And ready for collection on the 15th.
3. I strained my arm muscle lugging TONNES of brochures over 6 exhibition halls at the Food Hotel Asia Expo.
4. I placed an order for Chris' lenses today and the lenses will be ready for collection on the 17th. (RM150 for 2 boxes, 1/2 yr)
5. I have not changed any money into Aussie dollars but can do that at the airport.
6. I STILL have not checked if I need an Australian visa to go visiting.
7. My new passport will not have a Singapore re-entry permit, so I will need to apply for one.

Chef doing Chef thingsHehe, here I am at the FHA, and UPDATING my blog at a free cyber cafe having free coffee. (:Chef doing Chef things

And here's some shots of some chef making some sugar decorations. *shrug*
Oh good grief. I had an anxiety attack last night. I think it was an anxiety attack. My heart was pounding and I had difficulty breathing. And all this while I was in bed trying to go to sleep at 4:30am.

Reasons for my anxiety attack
1. I'm leaving on the 18th of April at 4:30pm from Singapore.
2. My passport's not ready and I'm supposed to be at the Immigration Dept at 8 am tomorrow.
3. I have to be in Singapore by 10:30am for the FHA exhibition.
4. I still have not ordered Chris' toric contact lenses to bring over to Melbourne.
5. I have not changed any money into Aussie dollars.
6. I STILL have not checked if I need an Australian visa to go visiting.
7. My new passport will not have a Singapore re-entry permit, so I will need to apply for one.
8. Chris needs laundry nets (4, he says. FOUR)
9. Tommy will be meeting Chris' mother to grab somethings she wants me to ferry over to him. So I'd need to meet Tommy.
10. I'm working on the 18th itself. So I have NO idea how I'm going to make it to Singapore, to Pasir Ris, and to Changi Airport by 4:30pm.
11. I have four library books which are due on the 28th. And I'd still be out of the country.
12. I still have not confirmed the airplane ticket.
13. And even if I did, I'd have to be in Singapore to collect it.
14. I have only 3 days (12th, 13th and 14th) to do items 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 13 while I'm in Singapore.
15. I have 3 days (15th, 16th and 17th) to do the rest in Malaysia.

DAoC Update
Ailorv Maiapets, the Theurgist of the 17th Year has taken up residence at Darkness Falls, a whole new dungeon recently discovered with the 1.49 patch. The fun thing about this dungeon is that all three realms can be in the dungeon at the same time, as portals would be open for the realm controlling the most keeps. The wild power struggle causes the portals to open and close, trapping or allowing chaos within the dungeon. From what Ailorv has seen so far, (all three caverns of it) the dungeon is HUGE! Fun with Dys
Dys's blog sent me to Not My Desk. She warned about spraying coffee out of your nose soooo....I'd take heed if I were you.

Damn, this man is hilarious!
DAoC Update
Ailorv Maiapets has worked her fingers to the bone, finally reaching 400 pts in tailoring, and earning her to right to wear her guild emblem. The first to do so in her new guild, The Knights of the Dinner Table. And yes, it is a really fun guild she is in.

After weeks of agonizing over her decision, Jadyte Darkwaters quit the Legacy of War and joined her friends at their guild, aptly named Insomnia. She now spends her time back in the Pit of the Coruscating Mines, crying over 400 rowan boards she stupidly brought along with her, thinking she could practice fletching, only to realize she had forgotten to buy feathers.

This is my favourite passenger. He sits quietly at the back, obediently with the seat belt and looks cute.

He doesn't yell directions into my ear, complain that my music is too loud, or make ugly faces at other cars through the window.

He doesn't laugh when I turn left instead of right. (I SAID RIGHT! RIGHT! RIGHT!). Or giggle hysterically as I try to struggle into a paralled parking lot.

He doesn't groan loudly when I sing along to my 80s music or try to reach forward and to mess with my music player forcing me to drive with one hand and wrestle with the other.

Yes, Kogepan is my favourite passenger. (:
