Blackberry: etp@etp ..... messages

Out of the blue, I couldn't send out messages with my Blackberry 8820.

Everytime I tried sending out an email, I got an email from etp@etp etc etc..

According to Blackberry from O2:

During the installation of the Desktop Manager CD you have selected the BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Desktop Redirector option instead of the BlackBerry Internet Service option. You should un-install the BlackBerry software and re-install making sure you choose the option for the BlackBerry Internet Service.

I am going to try that now.

I don't have the installation CD with me.

Another post at Blackberry Forum had this to say:

I recently had this problem because I switched to a used BB that must have used BES. I'm a BIS subscriber, too. These messages have something to do with being set up somewhere as BES, erroneously. Here are some things to check.
First, did you set up Desktop Manager using the Desktop Redirector option? You shouldn't. If you did, uninstall it and install it again as BIS.
Second, did you get this device from someone else, as I did? There might be extra service books on it that you don't need. Go to Options/Advanced/Service Book and delete any books for Desktop. I think I had two of them; maybe one was CMIME. In any event, delete them and you won't get that message anymore, I think.

The last part, '...I think.', scares me.

Options > Advanced > Service Book on my device does show 2 service books for Desktop:

Desktop(CICAL)
Desktop(CMIME)

According to Blackberry FAQ,

Solution:

Step 1: You have installed Desktop Manager using the 'Desktop Redirector' option.

If you're not using Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.

Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

The problem is, I have been able to send emails out normally before.

Why the sudden problem? I did not change or reinstall anything.

Duh... Now I seem to be ABLE to send emails without that message coming in.

My Blackberry HEALED itself!!
