Goodbye, motherland.
This post is about my journey from the hotel in Beijing to the international airport, Terminal 3.
Firstly, traffic in Beijing is awful. For example, I witnessed three minor accidents along the way to the airport. This is because motorists were weaving in and out of their lanes with no regard for anyone or anything. Also, every third motorist is an idiot who would treat the emergency road shoulder as their own personal playground. Because of this, cars would be zooming along the shoulder only to stop (in time or not) behind a stalled or broken down vehicle.
(Plane doors are closing. Need to end this postz!)
In summary, "Mother-land" indeed. Well, almost! I started every angry internal thought with "mother-...".
Additional notes:
SQ check-in is lane E.
T3's Gate 35 is about 25minutes away from the SQ lounge (Gate 18, BGS lounge). Its a bloody long walk. Smoking room is at Gate 30.
Takes half an hour or more to clear immigration, then baggage check. Don't expect any smiles here.
Aisle seat if you can. And for the Boeing 777-300ER, seat 22 for Business class, seat 31C or 31H.
